Latest news update from your Directors
There is a lot of news here, so please be sure to read to the end.
We are really pleased that the club is open once again, even if it is only for 8 sessions each week, but at least it is a start, and those who have booked rinks have certainly enjoyed their bowling.
What we have in place for September will continue through October, Hopefully, by then it will be possible to see how the Covid situation has developed and whether we can start to think about our leagues and competitions.
At present, the County has decided to cancel all Wessex League games for 2020/2021.
All entries for the National triples and fours remain as entered.
Whilst the remaining Club Competitions don’t start until next January, it has also been decided, on the recommendation of the Representative Selectors, to withdraw Daventry from all competitions for 2020/21, this includes, Yetton, Masons, Egham, Top Club and Denny Cup.
Rinks are now available to book in October. Opening times and rink availability are the same as for September.
The policy of casual play, no visitors (including players from other clubs), no spectators, and no socialising after the game will remain in place until the end of October. This is being reviewed regularly.
If you have concerns about playing because you are unsure of the risk, then please consider visiting the club to assure yourself of the situation but remember this must be by arrangement. Please get in touch with SueP to arrange a visit.
If you are having problems booking a rink on line then please get in touch with Ed Hibberd via this email address or ring SueP at home. Don’t forget, you can also ring the Club when it is open and the Steward will make a booking for you.
Rinks are available:
Monday 9.30-11.30 and 12.30-14.30
Tuesday 9.30-11.30, 12.30-14.30, and 18.00-20.30
Thursday 9.30-11.30 and 12.30-14.30
When you next visit the Club you will see one or two changes have been made during the summer. One immediately visible improvement is that all the area along the side of the club has been cleared and gravelled and will soon have a few small trees planted. We hope you will agree it is so much tidier than all those overgrown bushes which needed regular chopping back. In addition, a cycle shelter is now in place for the benefit of members.
Following the attempted break-in our security has been improved and additional CCTV cameras are about to be installed.
