All square at half-time, but the Eagles then struggled against a very strong Northampton team with victory to the opposition by 94 shots to 82.
However, the Eagles did win on two rinks and the Highest Winning rink award went to Captain Sue Pernyes and her team of Guifang and Trevor Wright and Mike Taylor.
The return match will be played at home on 13 September when the Eagles expect to by flying high.
